To confront the stigma around LGBT identities within the South Asian community, SAMHAJ (South Asian Mental Health Awareness in Jersey) of North Brunswick will host the panel event, “Coming Out, Coming Home: South Asian Family Acceptance and LGBTQ Youth,” at 7 p.m. April 20 at The Cove, Busch Campus Center of Rutgers University, 604 Bartholomew Road, Piscataway.
Panelists include Sudha Wadhwani, a South Asian psychologist specializing in coming-out issues; Saranya Ganapathy, a student advocate from Rutgers University; Razia Kosi, a parent and founder of the Maryland-based Counselors Helping South Asians/Indians; and Naz Seenauth, a student activist.
