NORTH BRUNSWICK — Four veterans celebrated at the township’s Memorial Day ceremony were honored again on June 6.
During the Township Council meeting, Frank Maltese, James Grieco, Phillip Dellasala and Frank Puleio Jr. were thanked for their service to our country.
Katherine Blum, Nicholas Fiore, Adriana Malvone and Ben Prott, under the direction of Evelyn Wan and Andrew Blum, were congratulated for their achievements in the Odyssey of the Mind competition. The St. Augustine of Canterbury students’ fifth- and seventhgrade teams won first and second place, respectively, in their divisions at the regional finals, went on to win second place in their divisions at the state finals and then earned an invitation to compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.
North Brunswick Township High School was commended for its recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month in April.
Samantha Mehalick, a seventh-grader at Linwood Middle School, was named the June Scholar Athlete Artist award recipient.
She is a high-honor-roll student, who was recently named Student of the Marking Period. She took advanced language arts and math classes, and is a member of SLICE and the student council.
Samantha has been on the Pop Warner cheerleading squad since 2003, and has participated in North Brunswick travel basketball, Department of Parks & Recreation lacrosse, and Linwood Middle School lacrosse programs.
