Buffalo Wild Wings to hold Thanksgiving food drive

Residents asked to drop off goods through Nov. 17 to benefit the N.B. Food Bank

ANorth Brunswick restaurant is once again trying to spread its wings and fly out into the community.

Buffalo Wild Wings, 2241 Route 1 south, will hold a food drive to benefit the North Brunswick Food Bank for Thanksgiving.

The North Brunswick Food Bank serves 135 families a month, and the need is greater as Thanksgiving and the holiday season nears.

Volunteers will be distributing fliers and bags for residents to make donations of nonperishable food that can be dropped off at Buffalo Wild Wings.

“The economic crisis continues to pressure North Brunswick families. They need our help,” said Rian Hurd of Buffalo Wild Wings. “Buffalo Wild Wings believes in giving back to the community in all kinds of ways. Being a restaurant that feeds people, it only seems fitting to put resources and attention toward our local food bank to help feed people in need.”

There will also be a drawing for $10 gift certificates and a variety of prizes donated for the cause every Thursday from Oct. 28 to Nov.18. Any customer who brings in two boxes of pasta and three cans of beans will receive five tickets for the raffle.

“We want to urge people to participate in this effort to provide supplies to the Food Bank,” Hurd said.

Food will be delivered to the food bank on Nov. 18 in time for distribution to families who qualify. The last day to bring food to Buffalo Wild Wings is Nov. 17.
