Grace Castellano celebrated turning 102 and was honored with a birthday celebration by the Elms of Cranbury.
In attendance was Cranbury Mayor Mike Ferrante at the milestone celebration on Feb. 15.
The celebration of the milestone took place at the Elms of Cranbury senior living facility in Cranbury Township on Feb. 15.
“[Grace] is a happy person and thriving at her home ‘The Elms of Cranbury,’” said Kelly Aylward, director of marketing for The Elms of Cranbury.
Castellano officially turned 102 years old on Jan. 24.
She has lived through some of the most important moments in American history, which include the Great Depression, World War II, The Cold War, The First Man on the Moon with the Apollo II Moon Landing and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic, Alyward noted.
Ferrante was joined by former Committeewoman Evelyn Spann, who currently serves on the Planning Board. They spoke and met with Castellano to share in her important birthday milestone.
According to the Elms, Castellano has been part of the Elms family since October 2019.
She is the mother of three children, grandmother to five grandchildren and great grandmother to three great grandchildren.
Castellano was also married for 70 years to John Castellano.
