It was hard not to feel the “pride” as the LGBTQ+ community gathered for Bordentown’s third annual Pride and Community Day.
People wore their pride colors proudly, some with their four-legged friends on June 10.
The day began with a gathering at the Bordentown Train Station where Bordentown City and Township officials welcomed the crowd June 10.
The crowd with the help of Bordentown City and Township police, fire and EMS (emergency medical services) then proceeded into the downtown towards the Community Fun Area at Bordentown’s Home for Funerals.
The day included a pet fashion contest, live music featuring Sean Kelly, arts and crafts with Leaping Dog, Girl Scout face painting, outreach with Sharing Temple Counseling, Rescue Adoptables, a bouncy house, henna tattoo artist, and drag story time.
For adults, events included history of the Pink Triangle with Stacy LoMell, HIV and STD rapid testing with Jefferson Health and Tarot Reading with Mercury’s Daughter Tarot.
Earlier in the day, Burlington County Joanne Schwartz officiated wedding ceremonies for couples on June 10 at Old City Hall and participated in the parade.
The sponsors of the Pride and Community Day included Bordentown Home For Funerals, Wags for Walkies, Old City Hall Restoration Committee, Icon Boutique, Hob Tavern, That Girl Friday, Sharing Temple Counseling, Leaping Dog Art, Studio and Bordentown Printers.
