The South Brunswick Soccer Club’s 13U Asteroids continued their winning ways, topping West End Ewing 3-2. West End Ewing scored first, but Nicholas Libassi evened the score on a direct kick. Strong offensive play from Elijah Suggs, Mohit Jauhri, Jonathan DiBartolo, Momo Cissokho, Adam Booker and Sam Reichbart resulted in numerous chances. Aakash Muthu put the Asteroids ahead to stay on a goal off an assist by Kyle Ferry. Before the end of the first half, Libassi’s corner kick led to Pablo Endara’s goal with an assist from Muthu. In the second half, the Asteroids defense took control led by Libassi, Stephen Sandoli, Daniel Spivak, John Burke and Thomas James. Goalie Miles Anglin had several key saves late in the game to ensure the Asteroids victory.

A 3-on-3 basketball tournament for all boys and girls from South Brunswick will be held Nov. 14 at the South Brunswick Community Center. The event is sponsored by the Monroe/South Brunswick Optimist Club in conjunction with the South Brunswick Township Department of Parks and Recreation

Brackets for the tournament are 10 and under, 11- 12, 13- 14, 15-16 and 17-18 (must be high school students). Each participant receives a T-shirt.

A maximum of five players may be on a team. Fee is $10 per person.

Application forms and information are available at www.sbtnj.net. Registration is by teams only, with fees payable to The Monroe/South Brunswick Optimist Club. The deadline to register is 4 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Recreation Department.
