Mary Earl Pierro, born Mary Mabel Earl on May 16, 1946 in Trenton, New Jersey, died at home in Bushkill, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the age of 77. Born to George Edward Earl and Mildred Stout Earl, Mary passed her youth on Dey Road in Cranbury, New Jersey. She graduated from Hightstown High School, a member of the class of 1964, and went on to attend The Franklin Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, where she obtained her degree, starting her career in Phlebotomy. She married her late husband, Leon (Lee) Vito Pierro in 1977,
with whom she was laid to rest on Monday, October 30, 2023 in a private grave side service at Westminster Cemetery in Cranbury, New Jersey.
Sharing a love for animals, Mary and Lee lived with their horses, dogs, and cat on Casper Road, in Alamuchy, New Jersey. Later, they moved to Hackettstown, New Jersey where they resided until Lee’s death in 1992. Mary and their daughter remained in Hackettstown until 1997 when they moved to Bushkill, Pennsylvania where Mary lived until she passed.
After leaving her career in phlebotomy, she went on to work in real estate, and started a floral crafts business, The Cat’s Paw, bringing beauty to the world through her creativity and cultivation of flowers. Mary later became a project manager, working for HSBC until her retirement in 2009. She spent her later years rescuing animals and fostering the beauty of nature around her.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Sarah Dey Stella, and her husband, Adam Stella, sister, Elizabeth Earl Cottrell, niece, Elizabeth Conover and her husband, Kevin Conover, nephews Scott and Marc Cottrell, a great-niece and great-nephews.
Mary will forever be remembered for her compassion for animals, quick wit, and love of nature. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend. Gifts of remembrance may be made to the World Wildlife Fund.
