Anne J. Gunia Drugos

Mrs. Drugos, 85, of East Brunswick, died Oct. 3 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was employed in production with RJR Foods, Dayton section of South Brunswick. Prior to that, she worked for 20 years at Quaker Oats, North Brunswick. Her first husband, Edward Modzelewski, died in 1944, and her second husband, Frank Drugos Jr., died in 1987. Surviving are a son, Robert Drugos of South River; a brother, George Gunia, also of South River; two sisters, Marie Bay of East Brunswick and Elaine Fourman of Monroe; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Philip Arnold Voorhees

Mr. Voorhees, 85, of Milltown, died Oct. 4 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1974, he was employed in the shipping department at Johnson and Johnson, North Brunswick, where he worked for 35 years. His wife, Sophia Aniskevick Voorhees, died in 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Delikat of Logan and Patricia Ann Meredith of Kennewick, Wash.; a brother, Robert Voorhees of the Toms River section of Dover; a brother-in-law, Steve Aniskevick of Edison; a sister-in-law, Anne Mitsock of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A service was held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Milltown. Interment was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milltown Rescue Squad, P.O. Harvey Simmons

Mr. Simmons, 78, of Sayreville, formerly of Old Bridge and Helmetta, died Oct. 1 in Applegarth Care Center, Monroe. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was employed with Compac Industries, Edison, where he worked for 30 years. His wife, Anna Jockman Simmons, died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Mickiewicz of Sayreville; a son, David Simmons of Wrightstown; a brother, Frank Simmons of the Dayton section of South Brunswick; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private.
