Mayor Jun H. Choi, the Edison Council and the Edison Recreation Department present the 14th annual Adult Co-Ed Softball League. The program consists of adult co-ed softball teams that are eligible to participate in the program. There will be an entrance fee of $200 per team. The league is open to everyone. League play will begin Sept. 4, and end in early November. Team applications will be available at the Stelton Community Center, 328 Plainfield Ave., Edison, beginning Monday, July 16, and will be due back by 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. The Hub City Hellrazors of the N.J. Dirty Dames Roller Derby League take on the Diamond Demolitia of the Wilmington City Ruff Rollers as they battle it out at the Kendall Park Roller Rink on Friday, July 13. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Greater N.J. Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk 2007, which will take place Sept. 29. Donations can also be made through the N.J. Dirty Dames’ Web site under “Schedule” at www.NJDirtyDames.com.
Other event highlights include live DJ music, half-time show, merchandise, raffles, and much more. This event will be held Friday, July 13, with doors opening at 8 p.m. at the Kendall Park Roller Rink, 3550 Route 27, Kendall Park. Taking first was Annabelle Donnamaria (with Jim Furyk) with a score of 40, followed by Ann Marie Broehl (with Tiger Woods) with a 44, Joan Hoskins (Woods) with a 44, and Dot Teringer (Woods) with a 46. Donnamaria had fewest putts with 15.
