Suzanne Kenyon, 61, of the Mercerville section of Hamilton Township, Mercer County, passed surrounded by loving family members on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick, Suzanne grew up in Metuchen and lived in Edison, North Brunswick and Trenton before settling in Mercerville several years ago.
Suzanne graduated from Douglass College in New Brunswick, St. Peter’s High School in New Brunswick and St. Francis of Assisi Grammar School in Metuchen.
Suzanne began her career at Bamberger’s in Menlo Park Mall in Edison. She was an executive at Macy’s for 40 years, and worked at the Quaker Bridge Mall in Lawrenceville for most of her career. Suzanne marched in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan as a balloon handler. She enjoyed traveling and loved being in the company of family members.
Suzanne is survived by her loving husband, Richard L. McClellan, whom she shared her life with for more than 30 years; her mother-in-law, Margaret McClellan of Levittown, Pa., and Florida; and many brothers in-law and sisters-in-law.
Also surviving are sisters Donna Kenyon Latkovich of the Fords section of Woodbridge, Mary Cooper of Forest, Va., and brother John Kenyon of Metuchen. Many nieces and nephews and several greatnieces and great-nephews will cherish memories of “Aunt Sue.”
Suzanne was predeceased by her mother, Ida Braun Kenyon in 1972; her father, John Kenyon in 1977; and her sister, Kathleen Rose in 1991.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords.
The family received visitors from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home.
Friends and family will leave from the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, to travel to the Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway for a brief graveside service at 10:45 a.m.
