Agnes Ledford Voorhees
Mrs. Voorhees, 83, of Monroe Township, died Dec. 1, 2006, at The Cranbury Center, Monroe Township. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., she resided in Edison 33 years, prior to moving to Monroe 22 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Woman’s Club and golf club at Rossmoor. She was predeceased by her husband, Garrett W. Voorhees Jr. in January; and two sisters, Veronica Collett and Rita Beyers. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Garrett W. and Lynn Voorhees III of South Brunswick; a brother, Emanuel Ledford of Oakwood, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service was at The Brunswick memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Jessie Lillian Van Liew Amrein
Mrs. Amrein, 82, of North Brunswick, died Dec. 2, 2006, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Milltown for 37 years, prior to moving to North Brunswick 10 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a 51-year communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. She was a member of the Milltown and North Brunswick Senior Citizens, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2319, Milltown. She enjoyed dancing, baking, and going to the casinos. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Robert Amrein in 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Bloodgood of Escondido, Calif.; a brother, Joseph Van Liew of Highland Park; two sisters-in-law, Mary Amrein of Gainesville, Fla., and Fran Amrein of East Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Dec. 7 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
Joan M. Devine Garrabrant
Mrs. Garrabrant, 77, of Monroe Township, died Dec. 4, 2006, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Newark, she resided in East Brunswick 50 years, prior to moving to Monroe Township four years go. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Garrabrant in 1996; a son, Donald in 1999; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann in 1961; a brother, Donald Devine; two sisters, Claire Crosson and Eileen Nann; and a grandchild, Edward William III. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward W. and Barbara Garrabrant of South Brunswick; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joanne and Barry Childs of Easton, Pa., Susan Garrabrant of Monroe Township, and Deborah and Joseph Krypel of Helmetta; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. John M. Koslowski
Mr. Koslowski, 61, of Spotswood, died Nov. 27, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was the owner and operator of Kay Bee Builders, Spotswood, for the past 40 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Victoria and Casmir Koslowski. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Koslowski; two sons, John M. Jr. of Jackson and Joseph M. of Sayreville; a daughter, Jennifer Lawless of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; three brothers, Steven Koslowski of Spotswood, Frank Koslowski of East Windsor and Richard Koslowski of Easton, Pa.; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
