Spring Lake Theatre will host the concert, “Songs for Justin,” at 8 p.m. Jan. 3 at 300 Madison Ave., Spring Lake. All proceeds will support Justin Condoluci and his family as he battles against pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The concert is a celebration of Justin’s favorite songs from musical theater. The production will feature more than 50 volunteer performers and musicians, and will be hosted by radio personality and Broadway veteran Rob Bartlett.
Justin is a 16-year-old triplet from Brielle who attends Manasquan High School. According to a press release, he has fought leukemia for nearly half his life.
He was initially diagnosed with cancer when he was 8 years old, and it has returned three more times. He has undergone dozens of rounds of chemotherapy, 44 rounds of radiation and a bone-marrow transplant.
All conventional treatment has failed, so he will now undergo a new treatment in a clinical trial that will use his own T-cells to target and kill the cancer.
Tickets are $50, and seating is limited. To purchase tickets or make a donation, contact Laurett Gannon at 732-539-4105 or visit www.songsforjustin.com.
