Raymond Rd. unsafe

On March 18 at 7:30 a.m. at the corner of Taylor and Raymond Road — with the school bus approaching and its lights flashing — a motorist speeding down Raymond stuck our five-month-old puppy, Cody. The motorist was trying to “rush the bus” so she would not have to take the time to stop.

We felt it was important to notify the neighborhood of the ongoing safety issues with people not obeying the speed limit or the bus laws on Raymond Road. Cody is currently undergoing surgery for a broken leg and hip. In all likelihood, he will recover and is expected to be home next week.

Finally our family is thankful to all of you who have worked diligently to make Raymond Road safer, but this is a painful reminder that more measures need to be taken for our safety, and especially for the children.
