I want to thank the fairgoers who attended the 2008 Middlesex County Fair and helped support the 15 local area charities that participated in this year’s Charity Challenge Event.
Because of inclement weather on the fair’s last day, we were not able to do our usual countdown and presentation of the sponsor prizes. However, I wanted to recognize those charities that won and the sponsors that added their support.
The winner of the 2008 Middlesex County Fair’s Charity Challenge was Animal Rescue Force (ARF), which collected $876.70 cash from our fairgoers. Bonamici, Colletti, P.C., CPAs, Spotswood, added $500 to that total as top prize.
ARF is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1974 to find responsible homes for dogs and cats and to encourage all dog owners and cat owners to spay and neuter their pets. The panel offers pets for adoption through its two centers in East Brunswick and Englishtown. You can learn more about the organization at http://members.petfinder.com/~ NJ16/default.html.
Our other two winning charities were NJ After 3 Inc., which won a $100 prize from Mikie D’s Texas BBQ, and Crisis Center at Aldersgate Food Bank, East Brunswick, which won $50 from MyUpbeatNews.com.
We extend our appreciation to everyone who helped make the Charity Challenge successful for our participating charities, and we hope to see everyone back at the 2009 Middlesex County Fair.
