Our spring drive had been so successful, we hoped for even better results as we closed out our year. But our expectations exceeded our reach.
We’d like to thank those 126 folks who did make time to be part of our blood donor drive last Saturday. We appreciate them giving us part of their day. One hundred and sixteen pints of much-needed blood was collected. We did set one record though, as eight donors chose to give an ALYX double donation. And thanks to the generosity of Cold Stone Creamery, many of our donors enjoyed a $5 gift certificate.
We’re looking forward to lots of you joining us on Jan. 13 at Congregation B’nai Tikvah on Finnegans Lane in North Brunswick for football-while-youdonate.
We also want to thank those who helped us with this drive: all the volunteers who put up billboards and posters, handled the registration of donors, and feeding the staff. We also appreciate teenagers Maggie Boyle, Sarah Brown, Justin Cordes, Christina and Paul Gramieri, Kevin Miller, Ryan Polny and Amy Rowe who shared duties at the refreshment and childcare areas, and local Girl Scouts and Pack 107 Cub Scouts who delivered announcements to township homes.
We’re grateful for support from local businesses: Bagel Time & Deli, Beiler’s Fresh Meats, McCaffrey’s, Pierre’s Bakery, ShopRite, Super Stop & Shop, Tastee SubShoppe II, Theo’s Family Restaurant, and Wegmans.
If you’d like to join our committee and/or lend a helping hand with our coming blood donor drives, please call me at (732) 297-3198.
