SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A female resident was exposed to another flasher last week.

According to police, the latest incident was reported by a resident of the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex along Route 1.

Police said a 35-year-old woman heard a knock on her sliding glass door on Feb. 23. When she turned on her outside light, she saw a man standing on her back porch with his pants unzipped, exposing his genitals.

When the suspect placed his hands on his genitals, the woman yelled she would call police. At the point, according to police, the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, possibly Hispanic, with a thin build, dark hair and dark eyes. The suspect wore a white jacket with a blue shirt.

A similar incident took place earlier last week at the Whispering Woods Townhouse Complex.

In that case, a 36-year-old woman was watching television when she heard a knock at her sliding glass door. When the woman looked out her door, she observed a male exposing himself.

The descriptions of the suspects are similar, according to police.

It is unknown if the suspect lives in either of the housing complexes or is targeting women in only the two complexes.

“We don’t know how he figures out where, who or what,” South Brunswick Detective James Ryan said.

The suspect appears to strike between Monday and Thursday, but no new incidents have been reported since last Wednesday, Ryan said.

According to Ryan, police are also investigating a series of calls involving a suspicious male located in rear and adjacent sides of the apartment complexes in the past two weeks. Ryan said residents may have dismissed those incidents previously.

Residents have been notified and police urge individuals to report any suspicious activity to the South Brunswick Detective Bureau at (732) 329-4000, ext. 7496.
