Mat. proposes 13% budget increase
MATAWAN – The Borough Council introduced a $9,692,419 municipal budget, a 13 percent increase over last year. The Aberdeen Township proposed budget for 2008 would increase taxes by 10 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. The owner of a home assessed at $150,000 would pay $149 more a year in municipal taxes. An article in the March 26 issue incorrectly reported the increase would be monthly.
