In the July 31 issue of the News Transcript, Joseph Baskerville and Herman Struve were incorrectly identified as the first two blacks to have joined the Freehold Borough Police Department. While Basker-ville, who served from 1946-67, was black, Struve, who served from 1943-71, was white.
