Resident critical of Smith’s vote on two bills
I read a recent opinion piece by Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) detailing his strong position against anti-Semitism and his efforts to fight it in the United States and especially internationally. He is rightfully alarmed at the increasing threat to Jewish human rights around the world. His concern and efforts are very much appreciated. But what…

Colts Neck resident has concerns about impact of proposed development
The 360 rental units proposed to be built on 20.2 acres of a 39-acre property on the border of Colts Neck and Freehold Township could be an environmental disaster. The intense development which includes an underground (under a paved parking lot) sewage treatment plant is in an environmentally sensitive area and could have an impact…

This is part of a state effort designed to encourage…

The commission would assess the current Holmdel model of government, examine alternatives and make recommendations, if appropriate, for changes. Such recommendations would then be voted on and approved, or not, by the…

Marlboro resident supports Cantor, Metzger, Mazzola
Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik is recognized by most fair-minded government analysts as one of the best, if not the No. 1, mayor in all of New Jersey. Mayor Hornik, however, cannot continue his outstanding record of success without the support of the Marlboro Township Council. Three of those council members are up for re-election this…

Resident questions Smith’s vote on bill
The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives on Aug. 24, 2021, no thanks to Representative Christopher Smith (R-NJ). This is surprising since a similar bill received strong bipartisan support in 2006. Representative Smith voted in support of this bill at that time, as did 32 other House Republicans.…
