Fishing derby planned for Aug. 18 at Thomas Pond in Metuchen
The Metuchen Recreation Commission will hold its annual fishing derby at 9 a.m. on Aug. 18 at Thomas Pond on Lake Avenue, Metuchen. The fee is $1 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your own fishing poles and bait. Trophies will be awarded in several categories. Pre-registration is not required.…

Metuchen to host two Earth Day celebrations
The first event to celebrate Earth Day will involve a community clean up from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 22. The public is welcome to join members of the Metuchen Recreation Commission, Environmental Commission, Metuchen Pool Commission and Metuchen Public Works to clean up around the Metuchen Pool on Lake Avenue.
