History club to offer

Vietnam War program

Sunshine Magic Circus coming to South River

Phills Brothers will host a March 24 Sunshine Magic Circus fund-raiser to benefit the Hemophilia Association of New Jersey. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. at South River High School, Montgomery Street. Two children will be admitted free of charge with one paid adult. Ladies Auxiliary will host Lenten fish fries

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 177, Old Bridge, will host a fish fry at 4 p.m. every Friday during Lent at the post home, 17 Emerson St., East Brunswick. Cost is $7. Takeouts will be available. For more information, call (732) 254-9690.

Spring frog program slated at Cheesequake

A "Spring Singers and Slimy Creatures" program will begin at 11 a.m. on March 26 at the Cheesequake State Park Interpretive Center, 300 Gordon Road, Old Bridge. Spring is the time of year when a tiny frog called the spring peeper emerges from its winter sleep. Participants will learn about the peeper and other amphibians at the park. Sayreville Main Street Theatre sets auditions

The Sayreville Main Street Theatre Company will hold open auditions for its summer season at 7:30 p.m. on March 27, 29 and 30 at the theater, MacArthur Avenue, Sayreville. Upcoming shows will include My Fair Lady, Grease and Damn Yankees. Participants should be prepared to dance, read from the script and present a song showing their range. ‘Lunch in God’s House’ scheduled for March 30

Performing arts school to stage ‘Twelfth Night’

The School of Performing Arts of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools will present a March 31 performance of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

The event will take place at 8 p.m. in the school auditorium, 112 Rues Lane, East Brunswick. Admission is free. The public is invited.

 

Chinese auction set for April 1 in South River

Phila Chapter No. 216, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a Chinese auction on April 1 at the lodge, 120 Old Bridge Turnpike, South River. Doors will open at 6 p.m.; calling will begin at 7 p.m. Admission costs $3; no children, please. Food and refreshments will be available.

 

Spotswood parish to sponsor D.C. bus trip

Immaculate Conception parish, Spotswood, will sponsor a two-day bus trip to Washington, D.C., April 1-2.

African-American association plans gala

The African-American Association of East Brunswick will host its annual dinner-dance from 8 p.m. to midnight on April 8 at the East Brunswick Chateau, Cranbury Road. Granny’s Cellar craft show set in Spotswood

Granny’s Cellar Spring Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 8 at Immaculate Conception Church, Manalapan Road, Spotswood. The event will feature more than 130 crafters, a country kitchen serving breakfast and lunch, babka breads and other specialty bakery items. Vendors sought for April 9 flea market

Vendors are sought for an April 9 flea market sponsored by East Brunswick Elks Lodge No. 2370. The event will take place indoors and outdoors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elks lodge, Hardenburg Lane and Oakmont Avenue. Space rental costs $12. Food and soft drinks will be sold.
