Thirty-seven student dancers earn honors

Thirty-seven students from the Dance Zone, Marlboro, competed at the I Love Dance Eastern Regional Championship, held recently at the Harrisburg Hilton Hotel, Harrisburg, Pa.

Christina Illisije and Christina Kosakowski, last year’s national champions, again earned first place.

Miranda Agostini and Christina Illisije each received Sweetheart of the Competition awards. Instructor Kathleen Abitable received special recognition from pageant director Kim McKimmie, and Dance Zone director Wendy Rosenblum received her second successive Teacher of the Year Award.

The following students earned first-place honors at the competition: from Marlboro, Sarah Malvin, Amanda Fertel, Jen Rosen, Norma Jean Garriton, Natalie Menendez, Kristina Dimarco, Allegra Kraut, Sarah Wolfson, Rory Rosenwald, Brooke Carey, Gabrielle Tumminaro and Lindsay Caporrino.

From Manalapan, Kacey Hirschberg, Christina Illisije and Melissa Pacifico; Linda Stehn of Matawan; from Old Bridge, Miranda Agostini, Jacqueline Lynch, Danielle Polihros, Alyssa Ruiz, Nicholas Ruiz, Christina Kosakowski, Tracy Cohen, Rene Nash, Tara Chencinski, Kelley McDermott, Katie Reilly, Amanda Saville, Brittany Reardon, Stephanie Goodman and Danielle Weitman.
