HELEN KRZYSZEWSKI BODNAR KRYGIER, 79, of South River died July 25 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are three daughters, Arlene Bordel of Newfield, Helen Carr Kozak of Dallas, Pa., and Mary Ann Wolfinger of South River; a sister, Jenny Matts of South River; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.

MARTIN LIPSZIC, 80, of Monroe, formerly of Millstone, died July 27 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Prior to his retirement, he was a poultry farmer in Millstone. Surviving are his wife, Hannah Katz Lipszic; a daughter, Rose F. Hayet of Oceanport; and a grandson. Arrangements were under the direction of Higgins Funeral Home, Freehold, with services at Perrineville Jewish Chapel, Perrineville section of Millstone. Interment was in Perrineville Jewish Cemetery.

 

JEROME BICA, 71, of Montrose, Pa., formerly of the Somerset section of Franklin and Jamesburg, died July 20 at home. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Simpson Bica; three daughters, Valerie A. Bica of the Sewell section of Mantua, Dawn Bica Krempecki of South River and Brenda Bica Rutledge of Belle Mead; a son, Nicholas Jerome Bica of Piedmont, S.C.; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose. Interment was in Holy Named of Mary Cemetery, Montrose. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name of Mary Church Social Concerns Fund, 60 S. Main St., Montrose, PA 18801.

JULIAN J. CIECKO, 81, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died July 24 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. His first wife, Ruth Mueller Ciecko, died in 1976. Surviving are his wife, Rita Kulesa Ciecko; a daughter, Donna Cannon of Sayreville; a son, David Mueller of Sayreville; a brother, John Ciecko of Sayreville; a sister, Dorothy Rutkowski of South River; and three grandsons. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

ANTHONY L. DE GISI SR., 74, of Sayreville died July 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he was employed as a custodian at Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High Schools, East Brunswick. Before that, he worked for 34 years as a letter carrier at the Sayreville office of the U.S. Postal Service. A son, Anthony L. De Gisi Jr., died in 1999. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Aslanian De Gisi; a daughter-in-law, Mary-Jayne Kerr of Sayreville; a sister, Jean Polzo of Blairstown; and three grandsons. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sayreville Emergency Squad, Washington Road, Parlin 08859; or to Children’s Specialized Hospital, 150 New Providence Road, Mountainside 07092.

FRANK LESTUCK, 85, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died July 30 at home. His first wife, Helen Lachko Lestuck, died in 1977, and a son, Joseph, died in 1975. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Freer Lestuck; a stepson, Joseph Guzzi of Parlin; a son, Frank Lestuck of Freehold; two daughters, Dolly Bloomfield of Helmetta and Helen Rosado of South Amboy; a brother, George Lestuck of Hopelawn; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, with services planned for Aug. 2 in Messiah Lutheran Church, Parlin. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn.

CAROLYN STANIK BACHONSKI, 80, of Old Bridge died July 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Edward Bachonski, died in 1988; a son, Chester Bachonski, died in 1963; another son, Eugene Bachonski, died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Edward Bachonski of Old Bridge, and four grandchildren. Services were arranged by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

ELIZABETH G. BIRMINGHAM, 99, of South Amboy died July 26 in Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Prior to her retirement in 1966, she was employed for 40 years as a teacher at Harold G. Hoffman High School, South Amboy. Surviving are a niece, Jeanne Nappi of Holmdel; three nephews, Daniel Birmingham of the Toms River section of Dover, William Birmingham of Jamestown, N.C., and Robert Birmingham of Freehold; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were arranged by Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, with a Mass at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in the church cemetery.

LAWRENCE MORIZIO, 91, of Old Bridge died July 30 in Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Manginelli Morizio; a son, Angelo of the Belford section of Middletown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Services were arranged by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, with a Mass planned for Aug. 2 at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, N.Y.

MARTHA M. KAUFFMAN SALMON, 71, of Old Bridge died July 26 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Robert Sr., died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Robert Jr. of Old Bridge; a daughter, Kathleen of Old Bridge; a brother, John Kauffman of Pennsylvania; a sister, Christina Nix of Atlanta; and one granddaughter. Services were arranged by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, with a Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

DOROTHEA E. THOMAS, of Applewood Estates, Freehold Township, died July 20 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Hightstown, where she resided until moving to Freehold Township five years ago. Miss Thomas was a Realtor for Rossmoor Sales, Monroe Township, for 20 years, retiring 10 years ago. She was a former secretary to the president of Princeton University, and a former employee of Opinion Research, both of Princeton. Miss Thomas was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Trenton, and a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Hightstown. She was a member of the October Club, East Windsor. Surviving are two nephews, Dr. John McNamara of Norwalk, Conn., and Dennis McNamara of Brick Township; and a niece, Diane Fields of the Dayton section of South Brunswick. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery, Allentown.
