Mansfield Township to make change in September

MANSFIELD – The Township Committee will change its agenda format in September to steamline its meetings.
Mayor Kelly Shea said meeting matters are often presented to the committee on short notice, and there is not adequate time to review and discuss them.
Committeeman Ernie Dubay also said due to so much going on in the township, there is often not enough time to go over everything.
   "It’s unfair," he said.
The Township Committee currently holds a workshop from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. before its regular meetings, which are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
In September, the committee will have a workshop meeting on the second Wednesday of the month to raise questions, conduct fact finding and for general discussion.
The public is welcome to attend these meetings, but will not be allowed to comment.
Mr. Dubay said he likes the new format because it allows the public to hear the issues before the regular meeting.
"It’s nice," he said. "If they hear something that concerns them, they have two weeks to prepare their questions."
The regular meeting will be held on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
The meeting change will be evaluated in October.
