The Red Bank Halloween Committee will be holding its 53rd annual Halloween parade on Sunday, Oct. 22. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. sharp and those wishing to participate are asked to be at the corner of East Bergen Place and Broad Street by 1:30 p.m. for judging.

There will be prizes for best costume and best float. Individuals and smaller groups do not have to preregister, but float groups do. Volunteers are needed.

Anyone interested in an application for a float or who would like to volunteer, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 530-2782.

Recruitment begins for society’s spring training

The Southern New Jersey Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will hold "Team in Training" meetings at 11 a.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 7. The meetings are designed for individuals interested in participating in the society’s "Team in Training" program. Meetings will be held at the Red Bank Public Library, 84 W. Front St.

"Team in Training" is an endurance training program that prepares volunteers to participate in marathons, century rides (100 miles) and triathlons. Funds raised from these events benefit the society’s research and patient services programs.

The society’s Southern New Jersey chapter will train individuals for the New Jersey Shore, San Diego "Rock ’n’ Roll," and Anchorage "Mayor’s Midnight Sun" marathons. For more information, call (888) 920-8557.

Parks and Recreation needs sports volunteers

Car wash to benefit Ronald McDonald house

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School class of 2003 will hold a car wash, Sept. 30, 9:30-11:30 a.m. The wash will be held at the high school on Forrest Avenue, Rumson, and donation is $5 per car.
