The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s 18-Hole Golf Association’s Oct. 2 Two Ball Best Ball Tournament. Lee Barra and Meryl Abramowitz took first place with a 66 (match of cards), followed by Carolyn Meyer and Claudia Homoki (66), Terry Massaro and Judy Weinberg (69), Susan Kelner and Thelma Tsacnaris (71), and Jean Hetzler and Perry Pernice (71). Rita Reisert had low putts of 29.

Stockton College in Pomona will host the Grand Run Across Country Classic, a 5K run and scholarship walk at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Preregistration for the event is $15 for the general public. Race day registration is $20. Fees are the same for non-competitive walking event.

The first South River Rams Football Reunion, benefiting the Children of Frank Szabo Education Fund and the Edward Malinowksi Football Scholarship Award, will be held Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m. following the football game. The reunion will be held at the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3001, 88 Jackson St., South River. The donation is $10 per person. All former Ram players, cheerleaders, band members, coaches and fans are welcome. The event is being sponsored by the 1978 and ’79 state championship teams. Jason Faigin, a pitcher in the New York Yankees minor league organization, will be offering pitching instruction for players ages 9-14 at the YMCA of Western Monmouth County starting Nov. 5. The pitching instruction will run for eight consecutive Mondays. Faigin, a Marlboro High School graduate, was a closer for the Greensboro Bats, the Yankees Single A affiliate in the South Atlantic League this year. He will share his professional experience with the youngsters, as he teaches the mechanics of pitching as well as the conditioning involved.
