Harold Thompson, former resident of Amityville

Harold E. Thompson (Deals) of Boynton Beach, Florida died September 19, 2001. He was a former resident of Amityville and was 69 years old.

Mr. Thompson was a veteran and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with a bronze Service Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.

Professionally, he worked as a draftsman for Butar Associates in Babylon and was retired at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn and by his children, Rick, Dana Cell and her husband John and Bradley. His grandchildren Samantha and John also survive him.

He reposed at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, 3863 Merrick Rd., Seaford. A Mass of Christian Burial was said Tuesday, September 25, 2001 at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Amityville. Interment was in Calverton National Cemetery.
