Boys SoccerCardinals earn rematch with Hopewell Valley

On the power of a Dan Jackson overtime goal, the Lawrence Cardinal boys soccer team advanced to the second round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III Tournament on Wednesday.
Jackson’s goal catapulted the Cardinals past Neptune, 2-1, in overtime of Lawrence’s first round game. Lawrence now will play conference powerhouse Hopewell Valley at 2 p.m. Friday in HoVal.
There is significant back-story to that clash, since it was the Cardinals who handed the Bulldogs their lone loss of the 2001 season last month.
