Little should stop attacks and focus on critical issues

I just can’t believe, with all of the serious issues facing North Brunswick, Councilwoman Maureen Little thinks her line in the sand should be drawn around the falun gong issue in China.

For those not familiar with the issue, the communist Chinese government has conducted a major crackdown in China against members of this group, and there have been numerous allegations that the human rights of these individuals have been violated. After being approached by members of the Chinese-American community in North Brunswick, council President Francis "Mack" Womack sponsored a resolution condemning these practices and was opposed in this effort by Little. Fine, that’s her fight. End of story, or so we thought.

Now, weeks later, in an effort to personally defame Womack, Little is insisting on not only bringing up this issue again, but is also attacking Womack for bringing it up in the first place. What’s worse is that Little admits she had not heard of the issue before this resolution, but now it seems is attacking it solely because the Chinese government is upset about it.

Ms. Little, your role in the uncivil way the township government conducted itself during the past year was an important factor in why the Republican majority on the council lasted just three short years.

Disagree. Fine. But stop questioning the motive and abilities of anyone who dares disagree with you.
