Government has shown it can regulate land out of value

The township of North Brunswick has more open space than it knows what to do with.

Let those in favor of condemnation and seizure of the Otken family homestead surrender their homesteads for a third of their value as a good faith example.

After working and paying taxes for nearly three generations, the Otken family is badly treated because they, through the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, require "just compensation" for land taken through eminent domain. The U.S. Supreme Court has spoken in Palazzolo v. Rhode Island. Government cannot regulate land out of its value.

Any real estate agent can tell you that land is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The Otken family has been offered $10 million for their land. An act of God will not change that, so why are there still some people in North Brunswick who would go against the Fifth Amendment?
