Art, outdoor programs offered by park system

The Monmouth County Park System will host "Why Can’t You Hear Me?" Feb. 26 from 7:30-9 p.m. Fee is $15 for the program that explores the world of interaction. "Makeup Tricks and Trends" for teen-agers and "tweens" will be offered Feb. 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. Cost is $15.

An infrared photography class will be held Feb. 28 from 7-9:30 p.m.; it is not a darkroom course. Fee is $16. All the above will be at Tatum Park Red Hill Road activity center, Red Hill Road, Middletown.

Outdoors cross-country ski clinics will be held Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon, and 1-3 p.m. Cost is $12.50-per-session, and all equipment is provided. Clinics will be on either natural snow or ski mats.

"Dynamic Drawing" will be offered Wednesdays from Feb. 27-April 10. "Dynamic Drawing II" will be offered Thursdays from Feb. 28-April 18. The course will further enhance skills learned in dynamic drawing and self-portraits will be introduced. Times for the courses are 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-2:30 p.m. Cost-per-session is $45.

"Paint Your Own Van Gogh" will be held Fridays March 1-April 19 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-2:30 p.m. Cost is $45-per-session and students are asked to bring a copy of a painting the individual would like to interpret. "Wire Craft" will be offered March 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $15, and attendees must bring wire, wire-cutting pliers, and, if desired, beads and/or charms with eyelets.

The farmhouse at Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel, will officially open for the season March 2. Guided tours are available on weekends and holiday afternoons, and farm hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. For more information, call the farm at (732) 946-3758.
