‘Forty Years of Painting’ at Red Bank gallery

Laurel Tracey Gallery, 10 White St., Red Bank, will present "Forty Years of Painting" Feb. 19-March 17. An opening reception will be Feb. 23 from 6:30-9 p.m.

The exhibit features the works of Francis Cunningham. He uses the "color spot" method of painting, which he learned from his teacher Edwin Dickinson.

The method is based on what is seen from the artist’s viewpoint, and according to Cunningham, it evokes a visual, tactile enjoyment and communicates sensations of form, space and light.

The artist has taught at The Brooklyn Museum Art School, and co-founded the New Brooklyn School and the New York Academy of Art.

For more information, call the gallery at (732) 224-0760.
