Monmouth County Arts Council elects new board

The Monmouth County Arts Council, Red Bank, recently announced its new board members elected at its annual meeting. The council promotes artistic excellence and public interest in the arts; and provides assistance and services to arts organizations, institutions and individuals; and works to enhance the effect of the arts and arts education on the quality of life in Monmouth County.

Local board members that will continue with the board are Steven Corodemus and Nena Danevic, both of Atlantic Highlands, and Sujatha Devarajan of Holmdel.

Local organizations represented at the meeting included Brookdale Network, Lincroft section of Middletown; the Guild of Creative Art, Shrewsbury; the Monmouth Arts Foundation, Red Bank; and the Monmouth Center for World Religions and Ethical Thought, Lincroft.

Also represented were Monmouth Civic Chorus, Red Bank; Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater, Sandy Hook; Monmouth Festival of the Arts, Tinton Falls; Monmouth Folk Dancers, Lincroft; Monmouth Museum, Lincroft; and New Jersey State Youth Orchestra.

The council’s programs are made possible in part through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the county Historical Commission, and the N.J. State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
