The Rockland Royals Girls’ AAU club is holding a six-team, two-game AAU scrimmage this Sunday at the Hoop Zone. One team just dropped out, and a team is needed to fill the last spot. The cost to play two games will be $65, which will include referee fees and clock operators. The times for the games will be noon and 3 p.m. at the Hoop Zone in Englewood. The Monmouth County and Monmouth County West Divisions of the Atlantic Coast Football League is holding registration for both the 2002 men’s two-hand touch and flag football spring seasons, starting this April. Games in the A League are competitive and consist of games of seven-on-seven and two-hand touch, and eight-on-eight in flag, while games in B League are recreational and will consist of games of six-on-six, two-hand touch, and seven-on-seven flag. Individual players and partial teams are also welcome and will be placed on a team. Players must be 18 years or older. Games will be played on local fields Sunday mornings. There is a 10-week season, plus playoffs. Winners advance to play winners in other divisions, with the championship game being played at West Point Military Academy. Now in its eighth year, the ACFL is the metro area’s largest two-hand touch and flag football association, according to the organization. Tickets for the 2002 Coors Light South Atlantic League All-Star Game at First Energy Park in Lakewood will be available to the public on March 23 at 9 a.m. The first day of sales will cover in-person sales only. Reserved seats are $12 for adults ($10 for children ages 5-12 and senior citizens), while all Sod Squad lawn seats will cost $8. The ticket office will be open at First Energy Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 23. Phone sales will begin on March 25 at 9 a.m.

The seventh annual Georgian Court College Golf Classic, sponsored by Commerce Bank/Commerce National Insurance, will be held on April 29 at the Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle. Entry fee plus sponsorship per individual player is $600. Entry fee plus tee sponsorship for a foursome is $1,700. The event is limited to 124 people. The fee includes a barbecue lunch, use of the driving range for one hour before the shotgun start, greens fees, golf cart, premium golf shoes and a Tiffany mug as a thank-you from the college. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch at 11 a.m. Shotgun start is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. A cocktail reception with open bar begins at 6 p.m. A gourmet buffet dinner and the awards presentation will conclude the day at 7 p.m. There will also be a silent auction of golf memorabilia. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
