FRANK H. McRITCHIE, 86, of East Brunswick died March 22 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Eunice Smith McRitchie; three sons, David McRitchie of Bound Brook, Kenneth of Burlington, Ontario and James of Elk Grove, Calif.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on March 30 at the Unitarian Society, Tices Lane, East Brunswick.
EVELYN HOLMES MOYLE, 92, of South River died March 21 at home. Her husband, Zacharias Moyle, died in 1985. Surviving are two sons, Ralph Moyle of South River and William Moyle of Spotswood; a daughter, Kathleen Schneider of South River; and two sisters, Helen Foyle of East Brunswick and Dorothy Holler of Manchester. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
GENEVIEVE RUZYCKE POWASKI, 78, of Spotswood died March 23 in St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark. Surviving are her husband, Frank J. Powaski; a son, Frank of Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Diane Marie Tedesco of the Stewartsville section of Greenwich Township; a brother, Matthew Ruzycke of Pottsville, Pa.; a sister, Helen Hanbury of Staten Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. ADRIENNE B. MAGRAM SCHUTZ, 68, of East Brunswick died March 21 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are two sons, Michael Schutz and Mitchell Schutz, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Lori Mauthe; a brother, Avron Magram of Princeton; and three grandchildren. MARVIN SHUGERMAN, 46, of German-town, Md., died March 19 at home. MARY POZAI SUDDER, 83, of South River died March 21 at home. Her husband, Michael Sudder, died in 1986. THE REV. STEPHEN H. CONGDON JR., 66, of Monroe Township, formerly Monmouth Beach, died March 20 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was founding pastor in 1992 of Nativity of Our Lord Church, Monroe. Prior to that, he served in the parishes of St. Francis, Metuchen; Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville; and Our Lady of Mercy Church, South Bound Brook. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Richard Keller of Monmouth Beach, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Nativity of Our Lord Church. EVA DEMSKO HARRIS, 85, of South River, formerly of Old Bridge, died March 23 in Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, John A. Harris, died in 1996. RABBI DR. JOSEPH MAZA, 79, died March 17 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. A noted Talmudic scholar, he was rabbi of Congregation Anshe Emeth of South River for 48 years, 1950-1998. Following his rabbinical ordination in 1944, he joined the first postgraduate class of the Yeshiva Gedolah of Lakewood. In 1976 he founded Young Israel of East Brunswick, and in 1983 he established the Union Hill Congregation, Manalapan, where he served as rabbi emeritus until his death. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Cheryl Strauch of Highland Park, Phyllis Parker of Merion, Pa., and Sandra Gross of Teaneck; two sons, Elliot Maza of Englewood and Alan Maza of Highland Park; two sisters, Gail Schulman and Evelyn Weisman; three brothers, Rabbi Bernard Maza, Rabbi Gabriel Maza and Jackie Mason; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick.
JAMES A. MURRAY, 69, of Manalapan died March 21 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Barbara, died in 1995. PAUL B. RYAN, 62, of Sand Lake, Mich., formerly of South Amboy, died March 23 at home. KEVIN ERNEST BARA, 38, of South River died March 19 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest J. Bara, in 1999. Surviving are his mother, Eleanor Zaleski Bara, with whom he lived; a brother, Alan Bara of South River; a sister, Karen De Marco of Bristol, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Oty of Matawan; a son, Robert Christie of Centerville, Ohio; two daughters, Patricia Valentino and June Gustavson, both of Laurel, Md.; a brother, John Christie of Garden City, N.Y.; two stepdaughters; one stepson; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was the owner and operator of All About Bows, Aberdeen, with her niece and business partner, Elizabeth Purcell, for four years. Surviving are her husband, Fred M.; two stepdaughters, Melanie Shickirk of Florida and Stephanie Safka of Lake George, N.Y.; a brother, Leon Warnock of Jackson; a sister, Audrey Vaughn of Keyport; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
