Bordentown comedy

   The New Bordentown Players present "Plaza Suite" April, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, and 29. Friday and Saturday performances are 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees are 2 p.m., at the Crosswicks Community House, Main Street, Crosswicks. Computers and tires

   The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders is offering a computer and tire round-up free to all Burlington County residents.
   Computers: Unwanted computer hard drives (CPUs) and monitors, keyboards, modems, printers and fax machines. Will not accept equipment from businesses.
   Tires: Up to eight car or light truck tires (even if they’re still on the rim) from personal vehicles. Tires will be accepted free only on the following dates. There is a charge for tires turned in at other times. Will not accept commercial vehicle tires.

Bus trip

UNICO National

Spring fling

   Tables are available for $15 to sell flea market treasures for the Holy Assumption School spring fling scheduled for April 20. For more information and to reserve a table call 499-8870.
Tree dedication

   The Roebling Garden Club will be planting and dedicating a special tree in front of the Roebling Post Office on Main Street to honor the lives touched by the events of Sept. 11, 2001 at 1 p.m., April 21. All are invited.
Kindergarten round-up

   Peter Muschal School is holding a round-up for kindergarten children who are residents of Bordentown Township (excluding Holloway Meadows) or Fieldsboro, April 22-26. For more information call 298-2600, Ext. 4112.
Book group

   The regular book group will meet 8 p.m., April 24 at By the Book to discuss The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.
Chinese auction

   The Florence Township Chapter of Deborah Hospital will host a Chinese auction at 6 p.m., April 26 at the VFW Post 8838, Roebling. Drawing will begin 7:30 p.m. Donation of $4 will include cake and coffee or tea. For more information call Carol, 499-1927.
Arbor Day

   The Springfield Township School District will host annual Arbor Day activities, April 26. In partnership with the New Jersey Tree Foundation, students and volunteers from the community will plant 50 trees around school grounds.
   Area merchants are being contacted for materials including tree stakes, shovels, trowels, picks, mulch, gardening gloves and compost. Volunteers and donations of planting supplies needed. For more information, call Springfield Township School District Superintendent Helena Kosoff, 723-2479.
Chinese auction

   The Bordentown Regional School District Band Boosters will hold a Chinese auction, 6 p.m., April 26 at the high school. Auction begins 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes one sheet of tickets, complimentary dessert, and hot beverage. Proceeds benefit the band’s scholarship fund. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the auction. For more information call 298-8875.
Shade Tree planting

   The Bordentown Shade Tree Committee will host its annual Arbor Day activities on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at Bordentown City Hall, Farnsworth Avenue. The committee, along with area volunteers, will plant 14 tress throughout the city of Bordentown. Volunteers are needed, along with shovels, trowels, picks and gloves. Spaghetti dinner

   A spaghetti dinner for the benefit of James Gabig III will be held on April 27 under the joint sponsorship of the Florence Township Club (formerly the Florence Township Mens Club) and Trinity Methodist Church of Roebling. The dinner will be held at Trinity Methodist Church, 1285 Hornberger Avenue.
   Tickets are $8.00 per person and $5.00 for children over the age of six. Children under six will be admitted for free. Servings will be between 4-7 p.m. Reservations may be made by calling Jerry Sandusky at 499-1558. Tickets may be purchased from Ms. Joy Weiler, Florence Township Clerk, at the Municipal Complex, 711 Broad Street, Florence; Boyd’s Pharmacy, 306 Broad Street, Florence; and from the Roebling Public School, 1300 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling.
Smorgasbord dinner

   The Lend-A-Hand Society of the First Baptist Church, Prince Street, Bordentown is holding its "Pennsylvania Dutch" smorgasbord dinner from 2:30 to 7 p.m., April 27 at the church. Eight people per table, served by waitresses. Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for senior citizens (62 and over), and $5.25 for children ages 5-12. No take-outs. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Walk-a-thon

   Duane’s Karate Academy is holding its annual fund-raising walk-a-thon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 27 at River’s Edge Park, Florence. Proceeds benefit St. Jude’s Research Hospital. For more information call (609) 386-6083 after 6 p.m., Monday to Thursday, or 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays.
Church anniversary

   The Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, 36 East Burlington Street, Bordentown, is celebrating its 160th anniversary at the 11 a.m. service on April 28. Dinner will follow at the Hope Hose Firehouse (one block from the church). For more information call 324-2695.
Rescue squad

   The Roebling Rescue Squad is currently accepting applications for membership. The squad is seeking active, contributing, and canteen members. Training is provided. Service calls are responded to in the Roebling and surrounding areas. For more information call 499-0911.
