Bernard Localio

Bernard Localio, 85, died Sunday at the Merwick Unit of The Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Harlem, N.Y., he was a lifelong Skillman resident.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Medical Corps. He retired as a heavy equipment operator with the New Jersey Highway Department and was a member of St. Alphonsus Church, Hopewell and American Legion Post 339, Hopewell. He enjoyed carpentry.
Son of the late Antonio and Rose Rizzo Localio, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Angela Porcelli Localio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Arna of Flagtown; Nicholas and Caryl of Moore, S.C. and Donald and Katherine of Gardenville, Pa.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Agatha Allotta of Lake Hopatcong; and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Church, with the Rev. Dennis Alpoldite, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 tonight at Cromwell Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell.
