Poricy Park, Oak Hill Road, Middletown, will offer the workshop "Colonial Gift Pincushions" April 17 at 7 p.m. at the park’s Murray farmhouse. Cost is $15, and $12 for members. Attendees will be provided with prestitched cushions to create a designed gift pincushion.

"Photography for Adults" will be offered May 2, 9, 23 and 30 from 7-9 p.m. at the nature center. Cost for all classes is $130, and $100 for members, which includes film and development. Participants must bring a camera, and will work with color slides and learn the basics of nature photography.

Conference on ADHD slated for April 12

CPC Behavioral Healthcare, Middletown, will sponsor the training conference "ADHD in Children: Nature and Management" by Russell A. Barkley April 12 from 9:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel.

The presentation is part of the center’s Peter M. Bry clinical training series. Cost is $95, which includes the conference, continental breakfast and luncheon.

Clinical scientist Barkley is the author of four books and several scientific chapters related to ADHD.

He will discuss the primary characteristics of the disorder, a new theoretical framework to help understand ADHD, methods for management of ADHD children, and useful medications to use in conjunction with home and school management programs.

JLMC’s ‘Joker’s Wild’ slated for April 12

The Provisional Class of The Junior League of Monmouth County (JLMC), Rumson, will present an evening of comedy "Joker’s Wild," April 12 from 8-11 p.m. at McLoone’s Riverside, 816 Ocean Ave., Sea Bright.

Tickets are $25 per person. Proceeds will benefit the opening of a "Teen Room" at the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, Asbury Park. The event will feature a comedy show, cash bar, light buffet, and a 50/50 raffle.

Performances will be by comedian Vinny Brand, and the comedic improvisational group "Possible Side Effects," comprised of graduates of Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft section of Middletown

Matawan Rotary to hold ‘Casino Night’ April 12

The Matawan Rotary Club will hold its second annual "Casino Night" April 12 from 7-11 p.m. at Don Quixote Restaurant, Route 34, Matawan.

Cost is $30, with $60 back in play chips. The event will also include hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
