The April 11 Beacon had three apparently dissimilar stories heading page one.
It would be more appropriate if they were combined under the single banner headline "Little League and Township Shaft Willow Road and Winding Way Residents!" Or "A Democratic Farce."
Act One Mayor Joe Tricarico tap dances his way out of making another hard decision that voters expect from a true leader. Which Democrat had the bright idea to foul up the proper notifications procedure? This was not an accident!
Act Two Committeewoman Christine Jensen shows her theatrical talents by quitting the Township Committee immediately. Of course, like any soap opera, she will return under more favorable circumstances. Meanwhile, she sacrificed her seat on the committee for the good of the party, as the party Machiavellian manipulator asked her to do.
Act Three The Democratic Party chooses Little League President Bill Gold as one of their standard bearers in November. To give him experience, the party names to him to finish Ms. Jensen’s term. He will be admonished to not show the egotism and arrogance he did at one committee meeting this year.
Finale At the April 22 committee meeting, our honorable mayor will go through the motions and pretend to take the audience participation very seriously.
Reality is that the Tricarico Gold Gwiazdowski trio have already agreed on a course of action that will very negatively impact the ballpark neighbors’ life styles.
John Patten wrote a fine, definitive editorial resolving this situation in the same April 11 issue. His solution would require sane and intelligent people being involved. These qualifications bar the Township Committee and the Little League administrators from participating.
On April 22, the ball park neighbors can expect to line up, pucker up and be kissed off about their concerns with the ballpark, its operation and growth.
Since Mssrs. Gold and Tricarico are now in bed together, you neighbors have been had big time.
By the way, am I the only one remembering our mayor stating at one of the committee meetings that the Challenger Field will not be built? I must get the videos and approved meeting minutes one day before they disappear.
