MONTGOMERY The Board of Education changed its biweekly meeting schedule at its annual reorganization meeting last night, while re-electing Linda Romano board president.
The board shifted its meeting nights from the second and fourth Monday of each month to the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, in order to eliminate conflicts with the township Planning Board, which also meets on the second and fourth Mondays of the month.
Earlier this year, Mayor Louise Wilson appointed school board member Susan Edwards to the Planning Board in order to enhance communication between the two bodies.
"Susan will be a valuable asset to the Planning Board," Ms. Romano said. "Both the township and the board want to increase communication, and she’ll help us get on the same page."
Ms. Romano was unanimously elected to her third consecutive one-year term as president. The mother of two has been a board member for eight years.
"I think I get it out of default," she said.
The board also re-elected William Hyncik vice-president for a third term.
Business Administrator Jim Strimple swore a trio of freshly re-elected board members. David Demme, James Logothetis and Douglas Kling, who were unopposed, were re-elected April 16 to a second, third and fourth term, respectively.
