Sally Turner of Hopewell Township was re-elected president of the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education during the board’s reorganization meeting Tuesday night.
The board voted unanimously in favor of Ms. Turner, in her 12th year on the board. It also re-elected William Hills of Hopewell Township vice president of the board.
Mr. Hills was elected to a second three-year term on the board April 16, as were Carl Swanson and Edward Gainsborg. All three ran unopposed and took oaths of office for their second terms during the reorganization meeting.
Also sworn in was Lisa Marin Main of Hopewell Township, who defeated Stacey Simon April 16 in a contest for a one-year term on the board.
John Nemeth, who also is the school district’s business administrator, was reappointed secretary of the board for another year. Board attorney Robert Martinez also was reappointed. Like Mr. Nemeth, he has been with the district about 10 years. Bond counsel Edward McManimon also was reappointed. All the appointments were approved unanimously by the board.
As it has for many years, the board will hold an agenda meeting and action meeting each month. The agenda meetings will be held on the second Monday of the month. There are no agenda meetings in July or August.
