Spring gala is slated by WW-P foundation

The West Windsor-Plainsboro Education Foundation is holding its annual spring gala, "Helping Little Hands," May 10 at the Mercer Oaks Golf Club in West Windsor.
The gala is the primary fund-raiser for the education foundation, which sponsors innovative programs in the West Windsor-Plainsboro school district.
As a result of the success of last year’s gala, the foundation awarded grants for more than 30 projects to 40 teachers and other district personnel. Ronni Schorr, a member of the foundation’s board of trustees, heads a committee of foundation members planning the gala.
The evening begins at 7 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The cocktail hour will include background music by the jazz band from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North led by Mark Bencivengo, a recipient of a foundation grant.
Guests will have an opportunity during the cocktail hour to view displays about this year’s grants, which include projects as diverse as using digital photography in a kindergarten classroom to help children create literature, and exploring planetary physics in the middle school using an accelerometer.
   A sit-down dinner begins at 8 p.m.
The live auction will follow, including round-trip tickets to London on Virgin Atlantic, a Disney World vacation during the fall school break and a week at a ski house in Wyndham, N.Y. After the live auction, dancing to the music of the band, Sandstorm, continues until midnight.
Tickets are $85 per person and can be obtained along with additional information from Robert J. Dunne III at (609) 936-0131 or by e-mail [email protected] or the foundation’s Web site www.wwpef.org. A portion of the ticket price may be tax-deductible.
The West Windsor-Plainsboro Education Foundation is an independent, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization comprised of community volunteers.
