Fred Waite

   Fred A. Waite, 78, died Friday at the Meadow Lakes retirement community in Hightstown.
   Born in New York City, he lived in Lawrence 20 years before moving to Hightstown.
   He was a retired project engineer with Mobil Oil Co. and traveled around the world.
   He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
   Mr. Waite was a member of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and a former deacon.
   He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a volunteer with Recording for the Blind, Princeton.
   Son of the late Fred A. and Mildred Nesbitt Waite, he is survived by his wife, Anne Linton Waite; a son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Linda D. Waite of Herndon, Va.; and two grandchildren, David S. and William M. Waite.
   There will be a memorial service 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dana Fearon and the Rev. Joan Semenuk officiating.
   Burial will be private.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, 2688 Main St., Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
