Sophie M. Pohlmann Ionata, 100, died Tuesday, May 7, at Morris Hall, St. Joseph’s Center on Lawrenceville Road.
Born in Saltzburg, Austria, she came to the United States in 1924 and lived in Ewing before moving to Lawrence.
Daughter of the late Johann and Berta Koenig Fohlmann and wife of the late Paul L. Ionata, she is survived by four children; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister.
There will be a funeral liturgy noon Friday, May 10, at Church of the Incarnation, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton, at the convenience of the family.
Friends and relatives may call 11:15 a.m. until service at the church.
