Blood drive to be held at St. Clement’s Church

A blood drive will be held at Community of St. Clement’s Church, 172 Freneau. Ave., Matawan, May 19 from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

There will be T-shirts for all donors.

The donation process takes about an hour, with the actual donation taking approximately 10-15 minutes. Donors must complete a medical history interview and have a mini-physical consisting of temperature, iron, pulse and blood pressure screening.

Interested donors must be at least 17 years old (17-year-olds may donate with written parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. All donors must present identification with signature at time of registration.

There will be T-shirts given to all donors.

Donations may also be made at Central Jersey Blood Center, 494 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury, during the following hours: Mondays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Registration under way for preschool students

Keyport public schools announce room is still available for preschool students to enroll for the 2002-03 school year. Registration may be done at the nurse’s office at Keyport Central School, 335 Broad St. Children must be enrolled on or before Oct. 1. Children must be age 4 on or before Oct. 1.

Parents should bring the following:

• Child’s original birth certificate.

• Child’s Social Security number.

• Proof of updated immunizations — DTP, four doses; polio-OPV, three doses; and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), one dose of each. A tuberculin test is also requested, and HIB immunizations must be provided.

• Children must have a physical exam upon entry into school, and no more than 365 days upon entry.

• Proof of residency (certificate of occupancy) must be notarized and accompanied by any two of the following — deed, mortgage, lease, utility bill, etc.

• In the event of divorce/separation, parents must submit a property settlement agreement or final judgment.

St. Joseph’s fair slated for May 29-June 2

St. Joseph’s Parish, 376 Maple Place, Keyport, will hold its annual fair May 29-June 2. Fair hours are May 29-31 from 5-11 p.m., June 1 from 3-11 p.m., and June 2 from 1-9 p.m.

Featured will be a nightly 50/50, a super 50/50, food, "bracelet night" May 30, rides, beer tent, entertainment, a money wheel, and fireworks.
