Registration under way for spring invitational

Registration and sponsorships are now being accepted for the 14th annual "CPC Spring Invitational" golf tournament, sponsored by CPC Behavioral Healthcare, Middletown. Honorary chairman is talk show host Maury Povich, and the outing is chaired by Spencer Gaines, Holmdel, and James Warshauer, Rumson.

The outing will be June 10 (rain date June 17) at Hollywood Golf Club, Deal. The morning shotgun start will be at 8 a.m., and the afternoon start will be at 1:30 p.m.

Registration is $425, or $1,700 for a foursome. Sponsorships range from $425-$6,500. Proceeds will benefit programs for economically disadvantaged children, teen-agers and families needing help with emotional or behavioral problems.

The event will include a buffet luncheon and awards dinner party hosted by Povich. Prizes include a 2002 Ford Explorer for the "hole in one" contest.

‘White Elephant and Cake Sale’ May 18

Belford United Methodist Church, 180 Church St. and Campbell Avenue, Belford section of Middletown, will hold a "White Elephant and Cake Sale" May 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the sale will be held in the church.

Holmdel Library to host

movie series for adults

The Friends of Holmdel Library will hold the first of their "Books Made Into Movies" movie series for adults May 22 at 7 p.m. in the Holmdel Senior/Community Center on Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, with the free screening of Bridget Jones’ Diary.
