Jason Reilly of Brian Klein’s Manalapan Tae Kwon Do Academy shows off his moves at last year’s Thompson Park Day in Lincroft. He’ll be back this year as part of the wide array of activities and demonstrations designed to introduce the public to the county park system’s recreational opportunities.
The Monmouth County Park System will hold its Thompson Park Day Celebration May 19 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the park at Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.
The free event will feature demonstrations, snake shows, children’s races, pony rides, a hoop-shooting contest, animals from Longstreet farm, food vendors, and arts and crafts. Activities for adults include a climbing wall, and a chance to have questions answered by master gardeners.
The park system will hold its Deep Cut Gardens Spring Festival June 9 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Deep Cut Gardens, Red Hill Road, Middletown. The free event is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Parks. It will feature garden products and displays, garden tours, lectures, and demonstrations.
