The 29th season of Princeton Summer Theater, located in the historic Hamilton Murray Theater on the campus of Princeton University, will run June 20 through Aug. 18, featuring four mainstage shows, two family-oriented matinee shows, and guest performances.
The 2002 mainstage season will be:
• "Baby with the Bathwater" by Christopher Durang, directed by Evren Odcikin, June 20-23 and July 4-7. This comedy examines the experiences of a child whose parents are too polite to discover its true gender.
• "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" by William Shakespeare, directed by Erin Gilley, June 27-30 and July 11-14. This classic tale of magic and love will be given a "new, energetic and exciting style" in this summer’s production.
• "The Fantasticks" by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, directed by Rachel Miller, July 18-21, 25-28 and Aug. 8-11. The trials and triumph of young love are at the heart of this great story, which is complemented by timeless music.
• "How I Learned to Drive" by Paula Vogel, directed by Evren Odcikin, Aug. 1-4 and 15-18. This 1998 Pulitzer Prize-winning play tells the story of a woman dealing with her abuse as a child with courage, compassion and humor.
