Group to hold discussion, tea on June 11

The group Soulful Friends will hold a philosophical discussion and tea June 11 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Route 34 and Disbrow Road, Matawan. Cost is $10 which includes the tea and refreshments.

A dinner and discussion will be June 26 from 7-9:30 p.m. at Jerry Beyers, Main Street, Matawan. Cost is $35 for dinner and discussion.

‘Catch the Buzz’ Bible school June 24-28

The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 112 Middletown Road, Holmdel, will present its vacation Bible school "Catch the Buzz" June 24-28 from 9 a.m.-noon.

The camp for children of all ages will include a bug safari, songs, building games, crafts, Bible activities, refreshments, and a firefly finale.

Woman’s Club to hold indoor yard, bake sale

The Matawan Woman’s Club will hold an Indoor Yard and Bake Sale June 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its clubhouse, 199 Jackson St. The sale will include household items, clothing, and home-baked goods.

Holy Family 10th annual carnival June 10-15

Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Route 36, Hazlet, will hold its 10th annual carnival June 10-15 at Holy Family school grounds. Times are June 10-14 from 6-11 p.m., and June 15 from 6 p.m.-midnight.

Featured will be games of chance, 50/50s, rides, a food court, the Jersey Shore Cruisers Classic Car Show, a DJ, nightly specials, and bracelet nights.

Hazlet rec. plans trip to New York City ballet

The Hazlet Recreation Commission will sponsor a bus trip to see the New York City Ballet perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream June 29 at Lincoln Center, New York City. The bus will depart the overflow parking lot at Hazlet Library, Middle Road, at 5 p.m. for an 8 p.m. performance. Tickets cost $56 and may be purchased at the recreation office at the James J. ‘Dance with Nicole’ at library June 11

Middletown Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, will present "Dance with Nicole" June 11 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The free program is for children age 4 and older.

Dance teacher Nicole Goetchius will present the program to feature dance and play to help children discover other cultures. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
