MAUD PILKINGTON BOOTH, of Lakewood, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 20 in Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Her husband, Albert Booth, died in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Glenys Shagin of Howell; a son, Donald of Jackson; and six grandchildren. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

SALLY McGOWAN GARRETT, 69, of Eastampton, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 17 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Charles M.; a daughter, Mary Beth Garrett of East Brunswick; two sons, Chuck of Eastampton and Kevin of East Brunswick; a brother, Owen McGowan of East Brunswick; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

MATTHEW A. KOZLOWSKI, 82, of South River died May 26 in Lakeview Center, Lakewood. He was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve Wilk Kozlowski. Surviving are a daughter, Norma Diver of Point Pleasant Beach; a brother, Edward Kozlowski of the Morgan section of Sayreville; and three granddaughters. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.

WALTER RICHARD BUTCHER, 81, of East Brunswick died May 20 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Harriet Reidy Butcher; four sons, Richard of Jamesburg, Michael of Jerome, Ariz., James of Lakeside, Calif., and Gary of Monroe; five daughters, Carol Ann Church of Point Pleasant, Mary Ellen Gallo of the Oldwick section of Tewksbury, Deborah Simanek of the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold, Lorraine Reimbold of Roosevelt and Jean of Princeton; a sister, Grace Rogers of Montvale; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. ALFRED W. SMITH JR., 76, of East Brunswick, formerly of Hazlet, died May 22 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Madeline Corley Smith; three sons, Alfred W. Smith III of South River, Christopher M. Smith of Coventry, R.I., and Raymond E. Smith of East Brunswick; two daughters, Carolyn Bayat of Lancaster, Ohio, and Virginia M. Smith of East Brunswick; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

GEORGE JOSEPH ZELASKO III, 18, of Jamesburg died May 20 in Orlando, Fla. He was a 2001 graduate of Monroe Township High School. Surviving are his mother, Deborah Bogota Zelasko, and his father, George J. Zelasko Jr.; a brother, Joseph Michael; two sisters, Lisa Marie and Jamie Lynn; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Zelasko; and his maternal grandmother, Rose Bogota. A Mass was offered at St. James the Less Church, Jamesburg. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

CHARLES DUMA, 87, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 17 in Care One, East Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie Orsag Duma; two sons, Richard Duma of Parlin and Charles E. Duma of Spotswood; a daughter, Delores Latendorf of High Bridge; a brother, John Duma of Old Bridge; two sisters, Helen Kaczorowski of South River and Ann Rock of Sayreville; and a grandson. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.

.DENNIS A. BORAWSKI, 54, of Old Bridge died May 22 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He owned and operated Quality Plus Contractors, Old Bridge, for the past six years. Surviving are his wife, Angelina Correnti Borawski; two stepdaughters, Maryann Small and Joanne Cameron, both of Old Bridge; his mother, Annabelle Winter Borawski of Edison; four sisters, Edith Presti of Aberdeen, Deborah Urbanski of Edison, Elyse Revak of Howell and Kim Fasullo of East Brunswick; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Cremation was private.

JACK E. LANCE, 81, of Spotswood died May 24 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Helen Evonitz Lance; two sons, Gerald Superior of Old Bridge and William Superior of Jay, N.Y.; two daughters, Beverly Hulse of Old Bridge and Sharon Skowrenski of Monroe; two sisters, Doris Sisto and Audrey Lance; and a grandson. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Interment was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.

ROBERT NICHOLAS LESCHEK, 56, of East Brunswick died May 26 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was most recently a teacher at Sayreville War Memorial High School. Surviving are his wife, Judith Fairclough Leschek; two daughters, June Leschek and Peggy Leschek, both at home; and a brother, Walter C. Leschek of Frederick, Md. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Sayre Woods Bible Church, Old Bridge, or to Sayreville War Memorial High School.

EDNA DANISZEWSKI MERSKI, 79, of Sayreville died May 26 in Willow Creek Rehabilitation and Care Center, Somerset section of Franklin. Her husband, Frank Merski, died in 1991. Surviving are two sons, Robert Merski of Sayreville and Donald Merski of Shelbourne, N.H.; a daughter, Barbara Fitzgerald of Sayreville; a sister, Laura Stas of South River; and nine grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery. HELEN C. SOLECKI of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 16 at home. Her husband, George Solecki, died in 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Adamiec of Parlin; a son, Gregory of South River; a brother, Vincent Lalko of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; a sister, Sophie Barna, also of Wilkes-Barre; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. STEVEN CHMIELEWSKI, 47, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 26 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his parents, Barbara and Charles Chmielewski of Parlin; a brother, Kevin of Parlin; two sisters, Cindy Ankosko of East Brunswick and Debra Rizzo of Old Bridge; a sister-in-law, Patricia Chmielewski of Parlin; two nieces; and five nephews. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin.

GEORGE A. ROHAL SR., 86, of East Brunswick died May 27 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Helen A. Popleik Rohal; a daughter, Theresa Solecki of the Iselin section of Woodbridge; three sons, George A. Rohal III of the Stirling section of Passaic, Michael J of Edison and Anthony J. of Old Bridge; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas Church, Old Bridge. JAMES A. LYNCH, 33, of Old Bridge died May 18 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his parents, James V. and Mary J. Mastorio Lynch of Old Bridge; two sisters, Lori and Sharon Lynch of Old Bridge; a niece, Alexis Saffold of Old Bridge; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

GLORIA C. SMITH MURANO, 76, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died May 24 in Hackensack University Medical Center. Surviving are her husband, John M. Murano; three sons, Robert J. Duffy, Matthew Murano of Sayreville and Christopher Murano of East Meadow, N.Y.; a brother, James F. Smith Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in St. James Mausoleum, Woodbridge.

PETER TELIDECKI, 40, of Sayreville died May 24 at home. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Perfetto Telidecki; and two daughters, Sarah Marie and Alexis Teresa Marie, and a son, Christopher, all of Sayreville. CAROLE EVANGELISTA PALMERO, 65, of the Toms River section of Dover died May 25 in Toms River Community Medical Center. Her husband, Anthony Palmero, died in 1977. Surviving are a son, Gregory Palmero of Brick; two daughters, Sueanne Palmero of Old Bridge and Marie Rosen of Marlboro; her mother, Lillian Evangelista of Old Bridge; a brother, Alex Evangelista of Massachusetts; and nine grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery, Somerset section of Franklin.
